October has arrived! Honestly though, I’m not that excited. I’m definitely a summer and outdoor concert type of person, but most of the shows happening in the colder months won’t keep from getting out around town. As for tonight, here’s what’s going on:
On the Kentucky Side
The Southgate House in Newport, Kentucky has something happening in each of its three rooms. The ballroom plays host to Company of Thieves (Indie Rock), Cavashawn (Pop Rock) and Hotspur (Pop Rock) at 9 pm ($10 at the door), while the upstairs parlour has got All Get Out (Indie), Enlou (Indie Pop) and Still Pioneers, also at 9 pm ($5 for 21+, $8 for 18-20) and for Hillbilly Thursday in Juney’s Lounge at 9 pm (Free, 21+) is Sid Hatfield & the Deciders (Hardcore Americana).
Not Much On the Ohio Side
Northside Tavern’s got Moonshine Drive (Bluegrass) in the front room tonight. Shows are always free and begin at 10 pm.
