Blues, Bluegrass and the World Music Festival

jon justice

It’s all about the blues tonight at the Southgate House. Josh Dorsey (of CEA nominees the J. Dorsey Blues Revival) is playing acoustic in the lounge at 9 pm (it’s free!), while Indigenous and another CEA nominee, the Jon Justice Band (pictured above), are playing downstairs in the ballroom at 8:30 pm. Tickets for that show are $15 at the door. So if that heartbreaking Bengals loss has got you feeling down, these three bands have got the cure for you.

It’s the final day of Covington’s World Music Fest. Tonight at the Madison Theater, you’ll get sets from Spanish, acoustic singer/songwriter, Javier Mendoza (pictured above), Roger Drawdy & the Firestarters (Celtic Folk), Acarya (Acoustic hard rock with world beat influences), Super-Massive (Reggae Jamband) and Nick Tuttle (studio owner/guitar and looping master). It starts early (5 pm) and tickets are only $12.

Across the river at Northside’s The Comet, The Comet Bluegrass Allstars (pictured above) return for their weekly residency at the venue in which they got their name. That’s a free show at 7:30 pm.

Wow! What a website. You have a real knack for making a blog readable and easy on the eyes. Some sites look like train wrecks, but not yours – it’s a pleasure to read. I don’t have time to read it all right now, I found this site when looking for something else on Yahoo, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will visit again soon to see the latest news. Please bookmark my comedy blog at http://www.DomainB.org and let me know what you think of it. I am a big fan of comedy so it’s nice to see someone else who shares my enjoyment of it. Have a great week!
