More CincyPunk Details

CincyPunk recently announced who will be playing on what stages, for their ninth annual festival that returns to Newport’s historic Southgate House on the weekend of April 9-10.

Friday night’s ballroom headliner are long time CincyPunk vets and favs, The Seedy Seeds, who are coming fresh off the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Also playing in the ballroom on Friday are post-punk rockers State Song (who are getting ready to release their debut album – more on that later), reggae-punk rockers The Frankl Project, rap-rockers Small Time Crooks, indie-rockers Charlie Hustle and punk rockers Situation Red. In the parlour it’s The Tillers, who released their second full-length album earlier in the year. I’m told that it might be a different kind of Tillers show than you’re used to, so stay tuned for further details on that. Also playing in the parlour are The Western (who are celebrating the release of an album), indie-folk rockers Hazle Weatherfield, reggae-punk rockers duppy a’ jamba, roots rockers The Brothers and The Sisters, punk rockers The Junkards and punkabilly garage rockers Martin Luther & the Kings. In the lounge its Skeletone, Americana punk rockers Best Revenge, This American Life and the acoustic duo of Tuck Me In.

Saturday night’s ballroom headliner are also longtime CincyPunk vets and favs, The Lion’s Rampant, who are fresh off from releasing their first full-length album (It’s Fun To Do Bad Things). They’ll be joined by reggae rockers The Pinstripes, Tennesse indie-rockers Slow Claw, melodic pop rockers The Guitars, alt-country-punk rockers Alone at 3am, punk rockers The Weakness and The Javelin Dance (who kind of sound like a mix of the White Stripes and Mars Volta). In the parlour it’s legendary Cincinnati punk rockers The Dopamines (also CincyPunk vets and favs), two reunited bands in Dropkickmejesus and Two Inch Winky, positive punk rockers John Walsh, Loudmouth, Army Coach and Pipe Dreams. In the lounge it’s folk rockers Billy Wallace & the Virginia Blues (they are actually from Cincinnati and not Viriginia), post-rockers The Never Setting Suns (who recently released their album), gothabilly punk rockers De Los Muertos and singer-songwriter Sam Banta (formerly of the Black Tie Bombers, The Starkweathers and Riverside Revival).
