Pink Floyd has long been one of my absolute favorite bands of all time, going all the way back to the first time I heard them around eleven or twelve years old, and still today, I can listen to their entire catalogue in full and no way could I ever tire of them. Undoubetedly, they are the greatest psychedelic band of all time, as well as being one of the best bands to master the concept album, and I feel that not only is The Wall is the greatest concept album of all time, but it is the greatest album of all time, much thanks to the high production values.
For months now, I’ve been anticipating further news on Roger Waters Wall Tour, and I’m stoked to say the least that it has now been confirmed. I never got the chance to see the real Pink Floyd perform live, but I saw Waters back on his Darkside of the Moon Tour in 2006, and not only did the entire performance, music and visuals, seem like I was experiencing the real thing, but it was by far the greatest concert I’ve ever seen. I really don’t believe that I’ll ever witness a better spectacle.
Waters recently announced that The Wall tour will be visiting more than thirty cities late this year, and luckily one of those will be in Columbus, Ohio at Value City Arena, formerly the Schottenstein Center. I wasn’t expecting a show to be announced in Cincinnati, but was hoping for Indianapolis’ Verizon Wireless (Deer Creek) Amphitheater, but heck, I’ll take what I can get. Waters brings what is sure to be the greatest show I will ever witness to Columbus on Friday, October 22. Tickets go onsale May 10. Stay tuned for more details here.
