Bonnaroo Updates Include Ice Cream Flavor, Price Is Right

More news from the world of Bonnaroo. They’ve recently collaborated with the popular Vermont-based ice cream company, Ben & Jerry’s, to introduce Bonnaroo Buzz. Just like past combos of Jerry Garcia and of their most popular flavors, Cherry Garcia, and the Dave Matthews flavor, One Sweet Whirled, you can now experience the taste of Bonnaroo on an ice cream cone. Bonnaroo Buzz is a delicious combination of light coffee and malt ice cream with whiskey caramel swirls and English toffee pieces. Soon it will be available exclusively at Ben & Jerry shops across the country, with a special release party on May 4 from 5-7 pm at participating shops around the country. Folks from the Ben & Jerry’s team will also be on hand at the festival this summer handing out free samples all weekend long. Get your Bonnaroo buzz on this summer!

Last week, a Bonnaroo package was featured among the prizes in the Showcase Showdown on television’s The Price Is Right. The package included two round trip coach airplane tickets, two general admission tickets and a thirty-four foot rented RV with a full size kitchen and a parking pass. Everyone on the internet seems to be getting quite a kick out of how Bonnaroo was described as “one the biggest country music festivals.”

So you want more music? Well, you got it. Three more bands have just been added to the lineup, bringing the complete musical part of the lineup to nearly 150 bands.

Indie-folk singer/songwriting sensation, Langhorne Slim, brings his band back to Bonnaroo, this time upgrading from a cafe slot a tent performance. A stunning live show, Slim will woo you with his gospel-like harmonies while tugging on the strings of your heart and soul.

Speaking of gospel and soul, the world’s best selling gospel quartet, The Mighty Clouds of Joy (often referred to as “The Temptations of Gospel”), have also been added to the lineup. The L.A. based band that formed in 1960, have released over thirty-five albums, are multiple Grammy winners, and have even performed at the White House.

Singer/songwriter Caitlin Rose recently won the third round of the Road to Bonnaroo contest in Nashville, Tennessee. The twenty-two year old who formerly fronted the indie-pop band, Save Macaulay, battled it out at the Mercy Lounge against seven other bands, with Majestico and Mikky Ekko falling in a close second and third. Rose joins the first two round winners, How I Became the Bomb and the Non-Commissioned Officers, who will all perform in one of two cafes at this year’s festival – either the Troo Music Lounge (located near the back field of the Which Stage) or Cafe Where (located near the back field of the festival’s main stage, the What Stage). The fourth and final round takes place on May 17, again at the Mercy Lounge, featuring Cassino, Cortney Tidwell, Delta Saints, Heartbeater, Space Capone, Pico vs. Island Trees, My Tyger and Cheer Up Charlie Daniels.

Stay tuned to BrokenMic.com for more Bonnaroo updates, including complete artist profiles, my top fifty picks for this year, as well as the full daily schedules, which should be released at some point next month. And get your tickets while they still last.
