Local Band Hits the Big Stage

One of the coolest things recently happened to one of my favorite Cincinnati bands. The Tillers, an acoustic roots trio made up of Mike Oberst on banjo and Sean and Aaron Geil on guitar and upright bass, were asked to open for the one and only Willie Nelson at Riverbend’s PNC Pavilion on Wednesday, May 12. Tickets for the show are still available, but probably won’t be for long. I can’t confirm anything, but I’m pretty sure this will be the biggest show The Tillers have ever played. The venue holds about 4,200. Congratulations Mike, Sean and Aaron!!! I can’t think of anything better that could happen to one of the area’s finest bands. More on this story later.
