By this time tomorrow I’ll be down in Manchester, Tennessee for my fourth trip to one of the biggest music festivals in the country – Bonnaroo. 80,000 music lovers from all over the world will be coming together to take in four full days and nights of music, art displays, eco-conscious workshops, film screenings, comedy sets and everything else that you can imagine that may exist at a multi-day festival.
I understand the difficulties that many face in not being able to attend an event like this, so I’ve got you covered here at BrokenMic. Make sure to also follow me on Twitter, as I’ll be posting updates around the clock, which for the first time will include artist interviews!
There are also many, many other great places to check out what’s going on down on the farm, and I highly suggest checking out the live broadcasts over at YouTube and NPR. YouTube will be showing sets from headliners like the Dave Matthews Band and Jay-Z, Damian Marley and Nas, The Dead Weather, Norah Jones, The National, Regina Spektor, Michael Franti and Spearhead, the John Butler Trio, the Zac Brown Band, Carolina Chocolate Drops and Julia Nunes. Check it all out right here! NPR currently has a list of forty possible artists that may be broadcasted, although that list is subject to change. Check out the NPR coverage right here!
Like I previously said, I’ve been fortunate enough to have experienced three Bonnaroo’s already, and I can honestly say that I’ve never been more anxious and excited for the festival than I am right now! Rolling Stone Magazine has called Bonnaroo “One of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll” and I really believe that it is something that any type of music fan should experience at least once in their life. The baby boomers and hippies had their Woodstock, and generations X, Y and Z have their Bonnaroo.
I’ll see some of you on the farm real soon!
