Cincinnati’s MidPoint Music Festival may be three months away, but already organizers are improving upon last year, which was the 10th anniversary of the festival.
2012 looks to be bigger and better than ever, with more venues including the Emery Theatre and the all new Washington Park (which will serve as the main stage), and a much stronger lineup.
Though only roughly 40 or so of the estimated 170 performers have been announced so far, the lineup is clearly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Among the heavy hitters scheduled to perform at MidPoint this year are the multi-faceted Andrew Bird, indie-rock pioneers Dinosaur Jr., returning MidPoint vets Best Coast, and legendary bluegrass outfit Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, to name just a few.
In other news, MidPoint is offering more ticketing options this year, including the VIP Experience (priced at $169) and the Washington Park Day Tripper Pass, priced at $25 (Thursday) and $30 (Friday and Saturday).
Festival attendees looking to purchase the “general pass” that allows them to attend multiple venues on any given night of the festival should look no further than the All Music Access Pass, currently priced at $69 for three days. The early bird ($59) and loyalty presale ($49) All Access passes have already sold out.
